Gastroenterology Physician - Locum Tenens Opportunity Near Norman, OK
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterology Physician for a locum tenens assignment near Norman, OK. This position is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis. - Patients Per Shift: 15-20
- Procedures Per Shift: 5
- EMR System: Epic
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Temporary Privileges Available: Yes
- Stroke Certification: Yes
- Call Coverage: Provide expert gastroenterology care through on-call coverage. The average expected in-house hours are from 8 AM to 6 PM (10 hours), with 14 hours of on-call duty from 6 PM to 8 AM.
- Patient Load: Manage an average of 15-20 patients per day, including approximately 5 procedures. The position also requires responding to calls during on-call hours, with an average of 0-10 calls between 7 PM and 7 AM.
- Callback Frequency: Expect an average of 1-3 callbacks overnight per week, ensuring critical care is provided when needed.
- Board Certification: Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Licensing: An active Oklahoma license or eligibility for an Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license is required.
- Certification Requirements:
- ACLS certification is required.
- BLS, ATLS, PALS certifications are not required for this role.
- Experience: Previous experience in an inpatient setting is highly preferred, ensuring familiarity with the fast-paced environment and critical care needs.
- EMR System: The facility utilizes Epic for all electronic medical records, providing a streamlined and efficient system for managing patient care.
- Credentialing Timeframe: The estimated timeframe for credentialing is 60 days, allowing for a thorough and detailed review process.
- Locum-to-Perm Option: This role is a locum-to-perm position, offering the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role if it is a good fit for both parties.
