Call Coverage:
Provide expert gastroenterology care through on-call coverage. The average expected in-house hours are from 8 AM to 6 PM (10 hours), with 14 hours of on-call duty from 6 PM to 8 AM. Patient Load:
Manage an average of 15-20 patients per day, including approximately 5 procedures. The position also requires responding to calls during on-call hours, with an average of 0-10 calls between 7 PM and 7 AM. Callback Frequency:
Expect an average of 1-3 callbacks overnight per week, ensuring critical care is provided when needed. Requirements:
Board Certification:
Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology. Licensing:
An active Oklahoma license or eligibility for an Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license is required. Certification Requirements: ACLS certification is required. BLS, ATLS, PALS certifications are not required for this role.

Experience:

Previous experience in an inpatient setting is highly preferred, ensuring familiarity with the fast-paced environment and critical care needs. Additional Information: EMR System:
The facility utilizes Epic for all electronic medical records, providing a streamlined and efficient system for managing patient care. Credentialing Timeframe:
The estimated timeframe for credentialing is 60 days, allowing for a thorough and detailed review process. Locum-to-Perm Option:
This role is a locum-to-perm position, offering the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role if it is a good fit for both parties. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Gastroenterology Physician to provide critical care and support in a busy inpatient setting near Norman, OK. The facility is open to IMLC bids, providing flexibility for out-of-state physicians.
