Dr. Tyler Bell is searching for one motivated undergraduate student for the Spring 2026 semester. The student assistants will work with Dr. Bell to develop novel post processing and quality assurance techniques using a combination of weather-sensing uncrewed aerial systems (WxUAS) and ground-based remote sensors (e.g., infrared spectrometers, Doppler wind lidar). The student will primarily work with archival data, but may also assist in designing targeted data gathering exercises.

Must be currently enrolled in the Spring 2026 Term as an undergraduate student at The University of Oklahoma.
Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Skills- Basic knowledge of weather and boundary-layer meteorology
- Programming experience (Python, Matlab, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new technical and communication skills
- Experience interrogating and/or visualizing meteorological data
- Experience with high-resolution observations and/or forecast tools (e.g., SPC Mesoanalysis, HRRR forecasts, etc.)
