Lincoln Elementary first grade teacher

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a First Grade Teacher at Lincoln Elementary within Norman Public Schools, located in Norman, OK. The role involves planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons, developing and implementing curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment, assessing student progress, and maintaining communication with parents/guardians and school staff. Teachers are expected to inspire academic growth, model respectful behavior, and support students' social and emotional development.

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for first grade
• Develop and implement curriculum aligned with district standards
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Assess student progress and provide ongoing feedback
• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians and school staff
• Inspire academic growth and support students’ social and emotional development

• Experience in teaching, elementary education, and curriculum development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in developing and implementing developmentally appropriate teaching strategies
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or license for elementary education (preferred)
• Passion for education and ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
