Position: Open Rank - History of Science, Technology, and Medicine - History of Women and Science

The Department of the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma seeks a historian of women and science. This open rank position is a search for an experienced scholar with preference for someone at the associate or full professor level. We will also consider scholars at a lower rank with significant experience.

The candidate must have research expertise in the subfield of women and science, and a strong publication record. Applicants must also be able to teach broadly in histories of science, technology, and medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will be expected to mentor graduate students at the MA and PhD levels. The annual teaching load is 2‑2, with an expected start date of Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.

Competitive candidates will also have prior administrative experience and a strong ability to collaborate well with scholars in the social and/or natural sciences. Preference will be given to scholars who demonstrate experience in the interdisciplinary field of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) and experience teaching online.

A Ph.D. in History, History of Science, History of Medicine, or a related field is required.
