Position Introduction:

The Student Program Coordinator will act as a tour guide coordinator and play a key role in delivering exceptional campus visit experiences at University of Oklahoma by supporting the planning, coordination, and daily execution of campus tours, group experiences, other visit experiences. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and is passionate about creating welcoming and seamless experiences for prospective students and their families.

Serving as a central point of coordination for tour logistics, communication, and visitor engagement, the Tour Coordinator ensures that each interaction reflects the care, efficiency, and spirit of the OU community.

The Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR) makes connections and creates experiences with the next generation of Sooners by supporting domestic and international freshman, transfer, and concurrent students throughout the application and decision process. Our team operates from Norman and across the state, nation, and world, partnering with faculty, staff, parents, counselors, and communities to provide guidance and resources to prospective students.

Scope of Position/Essential Duties:
  • Assists with planning, development, and implementation of designated student programs and services.
  • Assists the Campus Experience team with coordinating daily campus tours, group tours and experiences, personalized visits, K-8th experiences, and other campus events.
  • Serves as daily point of contact for campus tour guides, assists with creating and updating student schedules, and pairing tour guides with guest experiences each week.
  • Assists in managing daily tour and campus visit operations and guest experiences.
  • Assists in managing campus tour email inbox and SMS inbox to respond to guests in a timely manner.
  • Manages recruitment material inventory, assists with shipping and preparing requests, and ordering of materials in Jones Family Welcome Center.
  • Plans and coordinates training for student employees regarding tours, serving guests, and other components of campus experiences.
  • Assists in planning recruitment events for prospective students to engage with the university.

  • Act as a liaison between students, parents, HS counselors and the University of Oklahoma to coordinate student application/admissions/financial aid/housing/enrollment process.

  • Bachelor's degree.
Equivalency/Substitution:
Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
