Position: Outreach - Student Library Assistant (Fall)

Pay Range:Targeted salary of $10/hour, based on education and experience.

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule:Supervisor will work with student employee to find a work schedule that fits around their class schedule.

Travel:Not required

Position Introduction:

As an Outreach Student Assistant for the User Services Team, you will assist in supporting OU Libraries' events and programming by contributing to increased library engagement with the campus community. You will gain valuable experience working with library staff and faculty during outreach events and programming, and by connecting customers to OU Libraries' resources and services. The Student Success Team welcomes the culturally diverse population of the OU community to Bizzell Memorial Library.

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Skills:

  • Possess effective communication, interpersonal, and listening skills that support interaction with faculty, students, researchers and co-workers

  • Possess a strong work ethic

    Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision

Department Preferences:

  • Previous experience in customer service
  • Able to work independently without close supervision
  • Proactive in seeking out and finding appropriate solutions for problems
  • Good interpersonal communications skills
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Mac OS (including IT issues)
