Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Instructional Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD
  • $100,000 annual salary, disbursed weekly, including health, dental, and vision coverage from your first day
  • Full-time on-site presence at a single Alpha campus:
    Phoenix, AZ;
    Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK;
    Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
  • 40-hour work week, entirely classroom-based with students in grades K–2

You have invested years in structured literacy mastery. Whether through Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's degree in reading instruction, you can identify a student's phonemic error and pinpoint the exact skill gap. You design original phonics lessons without needing a scripted curriculum. This expertise is baseline—what sets you apart.

What distinguishes you is the way young children respond when you enter the room. At Alpha, this position is first and foremost a Guide: an engaging, dynamic presence that students are eager to work with. Your structured-literacy credentials open the door; your capacity to captivate a K-2 group for a 20-minute workshop is what secures the role. If "engaging, dynamic presence" does not define you, this position is not the right fit.

Alpha has eliminated conventional instruction models. Students advance through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications—no lectures, no textbooks, no mandated pacing calendars. Your role represents the irreplaceable human element. You create small-group reading workshops informed by live student performance data, and you facilitate motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students meet their weekly app targets using Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate game mechanics).

Your initial months focus on establishing credibility in the classroom. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" survey results (target: 90%+) measure this directly. Once you establish success, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance insights to refine upcoming instruction, communicating fluency progress and decoding milestones to families, and influencing the evolution of Alpha's K-2 reading methodology alongside adaptive technology.

As Alpha scales to additional campuses, your work becomes the national template for reading instruction.

Before an offer is extended, you will submit a brief video delivering an engaging story for young children, and you will complete a full day on campus working directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children disqualifies candidates, regardless of credential strength. This is intentional.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or equivalent), informed by live student performance data
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions that ensure 100% of students achieve their weekly adaptive-app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational framework (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate game mechanics)
  • Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding probes to monitor progress and refine instruction for subsequent sessions
  • Analyzing AI-generated performance insights from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, not only during advance planning
  • Serving as the engaging, energetic adult presence that your K-2 students anticipate and enjoy each day
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Implementing a commercial reading curriculum, scripted lesson sequence, or district-mandated pacing guide; you create lessons directly from student performance data
  • Delivering whole-class lectures; all instruction occurs in targeted small groups while students complete academic subjects through adaptive applications
  • Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach to peers, or district-level specialist; you work in the classroom with students daily
  • Managing a conventional classroom schedule—subject-by-subject lectures, homework review sessions, test preparation; your scheduled time consists of workshops,…
