The Community Standards Specialist reports to the Associate Director of Student Conduct and serves as the primary case manager for assigned student conduct cases and provides coordinated support throughout the student conduct process. The position is responsible for managing cases from initial report through final resolution while balancing student advocacy, educational intervention, institutional accountability, and community standards.
This position will partner with students, faculty/staff, and campus stakeholders to facilitate equitable resolution processes, promote student learning and behavioral change, and connect students with appropriate campus resources in efforts to foster students’ personal responsibility, community engagement, and student success.

What You Will Do
  • Case Management & Resolution:
    Serve as the primary case manager for an assigned caseload of individual and organizational misconduct cases; determine appropriate resolution pathways; facilitate educational conferences with individual and/or registered student organizations; draft communication through all steps of case lifecycle; assigned educational sanctions and appropriately document case files.
  • Investigations:
    Work closely with students, faculty/staff, and internal/external stakeholders in the resolution of Code violations; develops prompt and equitable investigation plans, identifies, and interviews parties/witnesses, maintains accurate records, prepares reports and catalogs necessary data in Maxient.
  • Student Advocacy & Support Coordination:
    Provide developmental support and resource navigation throughout the student conduct process, including the overview of students’ rights and responsibilities; assist students in understanding university policies; identify barriers to student success and connect students with appropriate campus resources; encourage student reflection and responsible decision-making.
  • Campus Partnerships & Collaborative Case Management:
    Develop collaborative relationships that support integrated student care with assigned functional areas within the campus community.
  • Educational Intervention & Behavioral Development:
    Facilitate educational opportunities that promote learning and reduce repeat misconduct among student(s) and registered student organization(s); develop individualized educational outcomes; facilitate restorative conversations and educational meetings; promote accountability through reflective learning and encourage development; support organizational culture change initiatives; evaluate educational effectives.
  • Sanction Monitoring & Assessment:
    Monitor resolution pathways with sanction completion and contribute to continues improve efforts; maintain accurate assessment data; identify trends in student behavior; assist with institutional reporting; support annual office assessment initiatives.
  • Professional Service & Special Projects:
    Support departmental initiatives and professional development; serve on university committees; assist with staff training; participate in policy review; present educational workshops; contribute to strategic initiatives.
