Education and Experience:
Must be pursuing a degree in GIS related program, Planning, or equivalent program and currently at upper division undergraduate or graduate level. Minimum of one class in Geographic Information Systems is preferred.
Licenses and
Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge:
ArcGIS Pro software and ArcGIS Online. Basic understanding of spatial database structure.
Skills:
Field investigations skills involving collection, evaluation, and tabulation of data. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal staff and citizens.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to analyze data, recognize discrepancies contained in data, and correct or determine the cause of discrepancies. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant interruptions associated with answering phones or completing walk-in requests. Moderate mobility; field duties may be performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.
Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
Uses ArcGIS Pro to compile and update addresses and easements in Geographic Information System (GIS) databases from source documents including: as-built drawings, construction plans, field notes, and aerial photography. Conducts field checks to verify accuracy and completeness of data. May use GPS for data collection. Digitizes compiled information and updates related databases. Uses ArcGIS Online to create digital maps and applications to share GIS layers and other information.
Completes map requests and makes copies of maps. Performs other related work as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works primarily in an office environment; however, time is spent outside (approximately 15% of the time) exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, dust, noise, etc.
