Position SummaryThis position is part of Asphalt Value Chain, Asphalt Technology East located in Findlay, OH, and reports to the Asphalt Technology Director. As part of the team, the selected candidate will play an integral role in product development, commercial support, production, quality control, customer satisfaction, and economic optimization of Asphalt and Heavy Oil products. Supported products include Performance Graded Asphalt Binders, Polymer Modified Asphalt Binders, Emulsified Asphalts, Cutback Asphalts, Roofing Asphalts, and Industrial Asphalts.
** This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a location and level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Plays an active role in providing quality oversight and maintaining quality control standards and procedures.
- Supports or leads investigations related to significant quality incidents.
- Maintains a high-level of technical expertise on the formulation and application of asphalt products including asphalt binder and emulsions, as well as hot mix asphalt and roofing.
- Maintains a high-level of engagement in industry innovations, technical developments, and ongoing research efforts.
- Works with external partners to build and maintain relationships with government agencies and industry work groups.
- Responds to technical issues related to customer satisfaction concerning product specification and performance, product advantages and/or competition.
- Utilizes technology and market trends to develop new products, optimize existing products, and improve existing processes, including the development of capital projects.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to support optimal asphalt and heavy oil production through transportation, storage, and sales.
- Effectively communicates complex technical ideas in simple terms to diverse audiences.
Estimated Travel: up to 20%.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Chemistry, or related discipline required. Four (4) years of industry related experience. As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
