Position: Student Event Specialist – (Fall)

Pay Range:Targeted salary of $9.50 - $10.50/hour, based on experience.

Benefits Eligible: No

Work Schedule:Flexible schedule days, nights and/or weekends up to 18 hours per week dependent upon client/building needs.

Travel:Not required

Position Introduction

Serves as a student event specialist. This is a student position which encompasses customer services, AV support for clients, room set ups, beverage services and opening/closing buildings. This position assists with special projects for the camps and events we have in the building throughout the year. This position will work around the student's class schedule, but work hours may vary from day, nights, weekends and some holidays.

Required

Education and Experience
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Must attach Fall 2026 Schedule and Cover letter
  • Will need to have a background check as we work with minors
  • Will need to get a food handlers certificate that the Forum will pay for
  • Will need to complete the training for minors on campus, along with other required University policy trainings
Skills
  • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to take constructive feedback and criticism
  • Must demonstrate strong listening skills
  • Ability to work independently with specific guidelines to perform routine tasks and problem solve when needed
  • Must communicate frequently and effectively with staff and supervisors
  • Meets standards for workplace courtesy and respect
  • Ability to understand audio visual technology and ability to learn/keep up with ever-changing technology
  • Respond in a positive manner to service requests and provide excellent customer service
Required Certifications and Licenses
  • Will need to get a food handlers certificate that the Forum will pay for
  • Will need to complete the training for minors on campus, along with other required University policy trainings
Department Preferences
  • Knowledge and understanding of Audio Visual technology and equipment
  • Must be flexible and ability to handle last minute changes
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and work independently
