Surgical Technologist - Orthopedics and GYN Operating Room
$19.56 - $31.94/hr depending on previous work experience.
Evening differential $2.00/hr
Night differential $2.50/hr
Weekend differential $2.50/hr

Departmental Overview Ortho TeamWe have 7 operating rooms for orthopedic, sports medicine, endocrinology, and ENT cases located in the Health Plex tower at Norman Regional Hospital. Our nurses demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, autonomy, and critical thinking skills while caring for a wide range of patient types. We orient new nurses to each of our surgical areas, spending time with dedicated preceptors in each area. Upon completion of orientation, nurses will be able to circulate orthopedic, sports medicine, endocrinology, and ENT cases as well as a wide variety of other service lines.

- Provides for a sterile environment.
- Prepares for procedure.
- Assists the physician to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient and staff.
- Responsible for personal continuing education and professional practice.
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technologist program, achieved national certification in surgical technology, or five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech.
- Must have completed accredited Surgical Technology program, or must have five (5) consecutive years training/experience as a surgical tech or LPN with one (1) year surgical tech preferred.
- National Certification is highly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
- If Certified Surgical Technologist must have current certification.
- Currently Oklahoma LPN license required if applicable.
