Departmental Overview
The EMSSTAT Manager is responsible for the operational leadership and day-to-day management of all emergency medical services in alignment with the mission, values, and standards of the Norman Regional Health System. This role provides direct leadership to field and supervisory staff, ensuring high quality, safe, and efficient prehospital care while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Upon the direction of the EMSSTAT Director, The EMSSTAT Manager serves as a critical link between EMSSTAT personnel and community Leaders, supporting workforce development, operational readiness, and system/community-wide collaboration. This position plays a key role in strengthening EMSSTAT by promoting effective communication, supporting organizational initiatives, and ensuring policies, procedures, and clinical practices are consistently upheld.
Job Summary- Leads EMSSTAT daily operations, including community support
- Provides supervision and direction to EMSSTAT Crew Chiefs
- Maintains Paramedic certification and competency levels
- Works with EMSSTAT Medical Director for continuous policy and protocol review
- Supports organizational needs by performing additional duties as assigned by the EMSSTAT Director
Licensure, certification, registration, professional designation ETC
Education:
Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Technology required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
Required experience:
5 years’ experience as a licensed paramedic
3 years in a leader/supervisory capacity
Required certifications:
- Must have and maintain current Oklahoma Paramedic License
- Must have current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS, which will be maintained during employment as required by Norman Regional Health System policy
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Modules 100, 200, and 700, 300 and 400 preferred and must be obtained with the first year of employment (if available)
- Hazmat Operations & Tech regarded favorably
- Critical Care Paramedic experience preferred
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license
- Must remain insurable by the Norman Regional Health System vehicle insurance company by maintaining a good driving record, and meeting all requirements set forth in policy
