Job Title:

Physical Therapist

The J.D. McCarty Center is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team. The role involves providing evaluations and therapy to developmentally disabled patients, aged birth to 21, with various medical conditions. Services are offered to both inpatient and outpatient clients.

Starting salary: $66,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation: Perform initial and ongoing assessments, select appropriate evaluation tools, and interpret results suitable for the patient's age and abilities.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and adjust individualized care plans, coordinate with healthcare team members, and plan for patient discharge and education.
  • Intervention: Safely administer treatment plans, monitor patient responses, and establish rapport with patients and families.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and concise records in accordance with APTA guidelines, including evaluation reports and discharge summaries.
  • Patient/Family

    Education:

    Provide tailored education and training, develop home programs, and coordinate post-discharge care.
  • Supervision: Oversee support personnel, delegate tasks appropriately, and provide feedback on job performance.
  • Compliance: Follow departmental policies, participate in meetings, and adhere to ethical and professional standards, including maintaining licensure and certifications.

    We are a pediatric rehabilitation hospital for children with disabilities from birth to 21 years, featuring a 36-bed facility and an 80-acre campus with on-site schools staffed by Norman Public School teachers. Patients may continue treatment beyond the initial 30-day evaluation based on their progress and needs.
