Job Summary
- Screens patient and obtains pertinent information. Trains new staff and coaches existing staff on the patient visit process.
- Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs. Triages patient calls appropriately. Trains new staff and coaches existing staff on the proper process for assisting each provider. Monitors the skills of each staff member.
- Documents applicable information and completes paperwork. Ensures that each staff member is diligent and thorough in the continuous care of the patient through accurate and timely completion of all encounters, labs, documents, etc. assigned to them.
- Maintains the exam rooms and work environment. Routinely monitors the clinic's exam rooms and work stations to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Assists with laboratory procedures. Monitors the staff on laboratory procedures to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Utilizes team-building, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to maintain a positive and productive working environment for all of clinic staff.
- Provides reception/clerical support as needed. Ensures staff is properly trained to support the clerical staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
- Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
- Experience in office clerical activities desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
- CMA or RMA required.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
Compensation/Benefits- $16.07-$26.25/hr depending on previous work experience.
