Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)

Purcell, OK | Long Term Care

Contract | Days | Onsite

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
• Administer rehabilitation procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and/or physical disorders
• Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, and support student supervision under the guidance of the supervising Occupational Therapist

• Minimum of 1 year of OTA experience required
• Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required
• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required
• Active Oklahoma State OTA License/Registration required
• Adherence to NBCOT, AOTA, and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics

• Experience utilizing evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems for clinical recordkeeping
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary health care teams on patient care planning and discharge summaries
