ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and implement Human Resource efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.
  • Develop Human Resource plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Function as an internal strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the company’s executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the Human Resource function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation, and benefits globally.
  • Act as strategic business consultant and assess capability gaps against future needs of the organization.
  • Plan, direct, implement and oversee human resources activities including recruitment, employment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and communications.
  • Prepare and maintain operational/capital budget through economical utilization of personnel, material, and equipment.
  • Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
  • Advise Directors/managers of company policy regarding, equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Serve as an advocate for employees, while advising management regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law, local governing bodies, or other departments in the tribal entity.
  • Prepare and generate employee surveys, wage analysis, census, personnel statistics, regulatory compliance/investigative summaries, and general periodic information updates. Update pay scales, classify all positions and place into appropriate groups., i.e., Lead, Dual Rate, Supervisor, Manager, Director, etc.
  • Provide for the analysis, evaluation and recommendation affecting the development or changing of new or existing procedures and systems as they affect employee performance, efficiency, and morale.
  • Plan and control feedback, report and communication channels that encourage timely and effective communication within and between departments in the division and all other areas of the Downstream Casino Resort.
  • Responsible for preparing written and oral reports to the General Manager as directed.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new team members.
  • Approves employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Evaluates Human Resources staff performance and provides immediate feedback to improve productivity.
  • Ensure confidentiality throughout the department.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner always. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
  • Assist in other projects as directed.

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources Management from four‑year college or university or related disciplines or equivalent Human Resource experience required.
