Operate press machine to fabricate specified sheet metal parts within very close tolerances. Inspect parts, operate material transfer system and report discrepancies.

Principal Duties:

• Work Safe!
• Basic computer operating skills.
• Obtain blue print from MES.
• Verify its information.
• Work from blue prints.
• Check every twentieth part for correctness against part and print.
• Enter yield into MES and production log at machine and 5S area.
• Set dials on control console for automatic shears (increments, feed, clamp).
• Set back gauge position and material feed clamps on manual shear.
• Feed part into machine and run two machines simultaneously as required.
• Inspect parts to drawings or first specification piece every 20 pieces.
• Record production in MES and on the production log including machine downtime.
• Maintain machine, equipment and an orderly work area (5S).

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with decimals, fractions and scales.
• Complete plant Brazer training course (if required for assigned job).
• On‑job training.

Very repetitive work, continuous standing, frequent walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying heavy or bulky parts. Weight ranges from 5 to 50 lbs; items over 50 lbs require mechanical assistance. Requires arm strength, coordination and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders. Rotating upper body to lift and position parts. Continuous visual and close mental attention to details in assembly.

Practice safe work, use personal protective equipment, participate in safety and environmental training, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
