Welder / Fabricator | Blue Worx

Location: Norman, OK
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift(Overtime as needed)
Pay: $23+/hr (based on experience)

Blue Worx is hiring an experienced Welder/Fabricator to support fabrication and welding operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople who can read prints, fit and fabricate components, and produce consistent, high-quality welds.

Position Overview

The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for assembling, fitting, fabricating, and welding metal components using appropriate tools and techniques. Candidates must be detail-oriented, safety-minded, and able to produce clean, finished parts ready for downstream processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings

  • Set up and adjust welding machines for various material thicknesses

  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components using measuring and layout tools

  • Prepare material surfaces for welding

  • Perform MIG welding
    , cutting, and brazing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals

  • TIG welding is a plus (not required)

  • Safely operate shop equipment including drills, presses, and saws

  • Create finished parts with strong attention to surface prep, finishing, and post-weld cleanup

  • Maintain accurate production documentation

  • Keep work area clean and organized

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

  • Participate in cross-training and knowledge sharing

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of welding/fabrication experience

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

  • Basic math skills (fractions and decimals)

  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and PPE usage

  • Basic computer skills (PDF viewing, documentation)

  • Dependable, accountable, and punctual

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching

  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts

  • Moderate to high noise environment

  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
