Starting Pay Rate: $19.40 2nd Shift Differential: $1.50
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time
Description: The Sanitarian is expected to understand, engage in the Sanitation activities in their area of responsibility. Directly responsible for ensuring a high quality, safe product; while minimizing damage, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices. The Sanitation Associate will be responsible for working in multiple positions, completing the day-to-day requirements, and interacting with other departments needs project related issues.
This position will include working at any Bama Facility.
- Prepare and assist in maintaining chemicals and equipment needed to clean and sanitize lines and facility.
- Record usage records of strengths of chemical use at the facility.
- Follow sanitation procedure and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Understand and follow quality standards.
- Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPS) in work area and all plant areas.
- Must possess the ability and aptitude to identify, correct and improve potential safety items: both human and food.
- Assist in troubleshooting failures and identify corrective actions.
- Assist with needed accident investigation and completion of follow-up reporting.
- Must participate in plant initiatives (i.e., safety programs, quality audits, and productivity) and team involvement.
- Understand Manufacturing guidelines for food safety, food security, and sanitation.
- Assist in maintaining daily housekeeping of the facility and grounds to be audit ready at all times.
- Must have High School diploma or GED.
- Understand guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
- Experience with sit-down forklift operation.
- Assist with inventory control process.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Must have proven safety record in past work history.
