Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This position leads and supports production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and works closely with other departments to resolve operational issues and improve productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and develop production employees across assigned shifts.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor production output, quality, safety, labor, and equipment performance.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and address production delays, quality issues, equipment problems, and staffing needs.
  • Track production metrics and prepare reports regarding productivity, efficiency, downtime, and quality.
  • Work with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Implement continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and production costs.
  • Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
  • Ensure proper staffing and coverage for assigned shifts.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Experience with production metrics, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or production‑management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, or rotating shifts when required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment as required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variations, and other normal production conditions.
