Position Summary
The Community Outreach Coordinator develops, facilitates, and implements outreach activities, special events, programs, and presentations that support member education and health plan awareness within the Medicaid population and the community. The role develops and maintains relationships with community organizations while ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Manages on‑site event staff and resolves any problems or emergencies, serving as primary contact for sponsors and event providers.
- Coordinates event logistics including reserving space, catering, communications, distributing materials, facilities support, and event set up/down.
- Creates and maintains a calendar of community events to aid the department in building awareness.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community and nonprofit contacts.
- Prepares formal presentations sharing health plan resources and benefits with community and members.
- Leads engagement events and activities.
- Engages with organizations and coalitions to advocate on behalf of the health plan.
- Supports enrollment initiatives aimed at increasing market share.
- Analyzes Medicaid population data to identify high‑opportunity counties and communities for targeted outreach.
- 2–5 years of experience with community outreach, public relations, community health, and/or event planning.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must reside in Oklahoma.
- Ability to work Mon‑Fri 8am–5pm CST and be flexible for evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time within Oklahoma, primarily the Northeast region.
- 1–5 years of Medicaid experience.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Highly skilled at relationship building and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, including during travel.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- High‑school diploma or GED.
Pay range: $21.10 – $36.78 per hour (or equivalent annual salary). Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement savings, wellness programs, and other resources.
