Position Title

Experienced RN

Overview

This position may be filled as an Ambulatory RN Level 1 or 2, depending on experience, education, and other qualifications. The Hematology Oncology Clinic is an outpatient facility with 12‑15 providers servicing roughly 60 patients with blood disorders, cancer diagnoses, and bone marrow biopsy procedures. The fast‑paced, collaborative environment requires strong communication skills, multitasking, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned patients or groups of patients to be seen by the service/clinic.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
  • Assists physician in patient examinations and performs minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
  • Administers medication as prescribed.
  • Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers patient care safely and competently.
  • Resolves patient complaints in a timely manner in accordance with policy.
  • Informs patient and family of clinic/unit procedures and shares care plan during care and at discharge.
  • Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Fosters a growth mindset through mentorship, openness to coaching, and maintaining professional certification and licensure.
  • Develops a professional career plan and establishes performance goals aligned with enterprise metrics.
  • Delegates tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (RN I)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 0–3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact).
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
Minimum Qualifications (RN II)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact).
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
  • Specialty certification(s) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Ability to maintain civility and good working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Skilled in computer applications designed to ensure quality and safety measures for patients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain integrity and trust with patients by advocating in the patient’s best interest.
  • Ability to engage and manage conflicts and disagreements constructively.
  • Ability to maintain compliance accreditation with local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills characterized by candor, openness, integrity, and diplomacy.
