Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• 3 months of Trauma Level 1 facility is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Oklahoma license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 6 months gap required between for Travel at Program:
Right Sourcing Program - OU Health and no current placement allowed at Program:
Right Sourcing Program - OU Health.

Required Skills/

Experience:

Stepdown/PCU experience is required. Will not accept OR candidates. Must have acute care surgical floor experience. Nurses for this unit need Med Surg experience as this floor has inpatients pre or post-surgical services-mostly surgical experience is needed.
• 4E 61000 candidates will care for patients post operatively and need to have experiences taking care of patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT.

Required Credentials:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Preferred Skills/

Experience:

ENT and/or transplant experience preferred.

Preferred Credentials:
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program.

Unit Details: OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is Oklahoma’s only Level I Trauma Center. Clinicians should have strong Trauma Level 1 experience and/or be willing to work with difficult cases. Inpatients receive pre- and post-surgical services; mostly surgical experience is needed. Candidates will care for patients post-operatively and should have experience caring for patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT.

Some patients will be stepdown care as well. Ratios are 5 or 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for SD area.

Floating Requirements:
Travelers will be first to float.
