Compensation
- $27.83–$45.46/hr based on previous work experience + $2.50 PRN I differential – 3 shifts per 6‑week schedule.
- $35 flat rate PRN II – 6 shifts in a 6‑week schedule.
- $42 flat rate PRN III – 12 shifts in a 6‑week schedule.
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
Norman Regional Hospital ICU is a 32‑bed unit that cares for a wide variety of critical patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, renal failure, induced hypothermia, and prolonged intermittent renal replacement therapy. The ICU team works in collaboration with the dedicated stroke unit to provide award‑winning advanced stroke care. We maintain a fast pace to meet the needs of those in the most acute phases of cardiac disease.
Common cardiac procedures and diagnoses seen in ICU include post‑open heart surgery, severe decompensated heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, aortic dissection, and acute severe valvular dysfunction. Daily care and responsibilities may include managing various life‑support systems such as ventilation, heart monitoring, and lifesaving medications. The ICU RN should show respect, empathy, and exhibit strong communication skills with patients, families, and other health‑care professionals.
Comprehensive and inclusive training is provided for new graduate RNs: 12‑week orientation with a designated preceptor.

- Implementation and Coordination of Care – Provide nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgment guided by current evidence‑based practice, regulations, and policy.
- Evaluation – Evaluate patient outcomes by utilizing the critical‑thinking process and evidence‑based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts, and reach sound conclusions.
- Evaluate discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.
Education:
Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Previous experience in the health‑care field preferred.

Licensure/Certification- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care, and must be maintained through re‑training for the duration of employment.
- New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
