Maternal Child Flex Nurse
The Maternal Child Flex department floats between patient populations to include:
Nursery/Newborn Transition Team, Women & Children's Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, & Mother Baby Team.
Performs RN essential functions to include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy.
- Establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care.
- Evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
- Provides nursing services to multiple maternal/child departments by leading, directing and collaborating within the interdisciplinary care team.
- Serves as department leader alongside and in absences of Charge Nurses.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- One year nursing experience required.
(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).
SCHEDULE
- Minimum 2 shifts per week to include;
- a weekend shift every other weekend
- one summer and one winter holiday.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
- Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
- PALS required within one year of hire and maintained.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Fetal monitoring.
- Doppler monitor
- Pulse oximetry monitoring and use of capnography.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
- Hourly rate depending on previous work experience.
- Flex differential.
- Shift and weekend differentials.
- $5K Sign On Bonus to be paid out over one year.
