Description:
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Cares for all cardiac needs, including post-operative care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator.
Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.
This role requires working up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period and holidays if there is a department need.
