About the PositionSTART SEPTEMBER. This position is in a 23‑bed Pediatric ER that serves patients aged newborn to 17 years, operating 24/7 with an average of 65 patients per day and the potential for COVID patients. The pediatric trauma unit refers patients to the main adult ER. The adult ER handles Level I trauma patients in a 1,000‑bed facility.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide direct patient assessment, IV placement, and laboratory draw for pediatric patients.
- Manage acute pediatric and emergency care for high acuity patients.
- Participate in team round‑ups and care plans within a fast‑paced environment.
Safety‑sensitive job:
Candidates must pass Basic Dysrhythmia and general medication competency tests on the first day of employment. The position is classified under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act; applicants who test positive for marijuana while on a valid medical prescription may be disqualified.
Required credentials:
- Registered Nurse license, active in Oklahoma.
- At least 2 years of pediatric ER or general ER experience.
- EPIC EMR proficiency.
- PALS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certification.
Schedule:
7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., every other weekend rotation. Holiday coverage required.
