• $27.84-$45.65/hr. depending on previous work experience
• Evening differential $2.50/hr.

• The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery and Newborn Transition Team (NTT) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to obstetrical patients and newborns throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and immediate newborn transition experience. The RN collaborates with physicians, anesthesia, neonatal teams, pediatric providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to promote safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn care.
• The Labor & Delivery/NTT RN is responsible for providing care to laboring patients while maintaining competency in newborn transition, stabilization, and routine newborn care following delivery. This role supports a family-centered couplet care model by providing care to both mother and newborn following delivery when clinically appropriate.

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to: assessment and reassessment, analyzing patient data, establishing goals and priorities of care, developing and implementing care plans, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, patient education, delegation of tasks, evaluation of patient outcomes, newborn transition management, and responding appropriately to maternal and neonatal emergencies.

• Provide direct nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, OB emergency, and newborn transition patients
• Perform comprehensive maternal, fetal, and newborn assessments and reassessments
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings and respond appropriately to changes in maternal-fetal status
• Assist with labor management, inductions, vaginal deliveries, cesarean section preparation/recovery, and postpartum care
• Function as the newborn transition nurse during deliveries as assigned
• Perform newborn assessments, including transition assessment, APGAR scoring, vital signs, thermoregulation, and evaluation of newborn adaptation
• Provide routine newborn stabilization following delivery, including drying, warming, positioning, stimulation, and airway management within RN scope of practice
• Recognize newborn complications and initiate appropriate interventions, including escalation to neonatal providers when indicated
• Perform newborn medications, screenings, documentation, and required procedures according to hospital policy
• Support skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding initiation, and family-centered newborn care when clinically appropriate
• Assume care of the newborn following successful transition and provide couplet care with the mother when appropriate
• Recognize and respond to obstetrical and neonatal emergencies including hemorrhage, hypertensive disorders, fetal distress, shoulder dystocia, and neonatal resuscitation
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, neonatal teams, pediatric providers, surgical services, lactation consultants, and ancillary departments to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, safe sleep, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of maternal and newborn care
• Promote patient safety, teamwork, evidence-based practice, and excellent patient experience

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
