The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on the beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island). The Demi Chef is responsible for cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes.
You will be confident in multiple kitchen environments, have bistro and buffet style experience, plus knowledge of Asian cuisine a bonus. We are seeking an enthusiastic team player who is not just skilled in the kitchen but also passionate about delivering top-notch service and contributing to the overall success of the kitchen team.
This full-time role requires you to relocate and live on the island at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Live and work in paradise alongside a passionate global team!
Skills, Qualifications & Experience- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent higher education (required)
- Food Safety Course (Essential)
- Experience in Asian cuisine (desirable)
- Experience and confidence in buffet and bistro style, preferably at hotels/resorts
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (preferred)
- Minimum 2-years in a Demi Chef role (preferred)
- Advanced communication and organisational skills
- Efficient and effective time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen
- Previous experience within multi outlet operations
