fire prevention & safety officer
incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations, and providing security at griffin memorial hospital.
typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

- annual salary:
- level i: $14.18 hourly
- level ii: $15.14 hourly
- non‑exempt

- level i: no requisite education and experience are required for consideration.
- level ii: completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.
- applicants must submit to a physical examination and meet the lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally and push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
- applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job‑related travel normally associated with this position and must have a valid driver’s license.

this agency requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
