Position Introduction:
OUPD Dispatcher - Become an essential part of campus safety! The University is seeking a dependable and proactive Dispatcher to support campus safety operations by coordinating emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate responders, and maintaining effective communication with campus police and external agencies. This role monitors security cameras, alarm systems, and radio communications; documents all incidents and service requests; and assists with securing campus facilities through electronic access control systems.
The position also serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), ensuring compliance with safety reporting requirements, while providing calm, professional, and efficient service in a dynamic university environment focused on the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Required
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Driver License to drive university vehicles.
- Must obtain Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of hire date.
Department Preferences:
- Previous experience dispatching for a public safety organization.
- OLETS certification.
- Bilingual in conversational Spanish and English.
