Position Introduction

OUPD Criminal Intelligence Officer - Play a vital role in protecting the university community by leading criminal and terrorism intelligence efforts that support campus safety, threat prevention, and emergency preparedness. The University is seeking a skilled and analytical Criminal Intelligence Officer to oversee intelligence collection, analysis, threat assessment, and information sharing activities that help identify and mitigate potential risks to the institution.

This position serves as the primary liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence partners, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Oklahoma Counter Terrorism Intelligence Center. The role develops intelligence products, conducts threat and risk assessments, supports investigations and critical incidents, analyzes criminal trends and emerging threats, and provides actionable recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.

As a key member of the OUPD team, the Criminal Intelligence Officer ensures compliance with legal, privacy, and civil liberties requirements while maintaining intelligence systems, strengthening collaborative partnerships, and delivering training and awareness programs that enhance campus security and preparedness across the University of Oklahoma's Norman, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa campuses. The position supports a comprehensive, enterprise-wide approach to intelligence sharing, threat assessment, and public safety, helping protect students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors throughout the OU system.
