OVERVIEW
The Avionics Technician III is an entry-level position ideal for new graduates from Avionics or A&P technology schools, and mechanics with less than five years of aircraft experience. Our Step-Level Progression training program can help you acquire your FAA airframe license.
WORK LOCATIONOnsite at AAR (at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK).
SCHEDULEFull-Time/non-exempt variable, 40 – 50-hour workweek. Shift schedule as follows.
- 1st Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm or 5:30am to 4:00pm
- 2nd Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am or 3:30pm to 2:00am
Supervisor determines shifts; discussion possible during interview; more flexible candidates preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision.
- Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with airworthiness standards.
- Use FAA approved/accepted data (IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently.
- Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements.
- Perform avionics repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings.
- Use PC, iPad, and basic computer applications and programs.
- Complete additional job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self‑motivation.

- 2+ years of avionics experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside aviation).
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to skillfully use minimum tools required.
- Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing).
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR.
