Retail Construction Superintendent – USA
We're partnering with a national construction and facilities services business looking to add an experienced Retail Construction Superintendent to its field leadership team.
This is a high-autonomy role for someone who enjoys being on-site, taking ownership of project delivery and leading fast-paced retail and commercial renovation projects across the United States.
The RoleYou'll take responsibility for projects from mobilization through final handover, coordinating trades, schedules, safety, quality and site activity to ensure every project is delivered successfully.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage day-to-day construction activity from project start through completion
- Lead retail remodel, refresh and renovation projects nationwide
- Coordinate subcontractors, field teams, schedules and site logistics
- Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to drive execution
- Monitor project schedules and proactively resolve delays or site challenges
- Manage RFIs, inspections, permits and closeout requirements
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety and design standards
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates and site photography
- Lead toolbox talks and reinforce strong job-site safety practices
- Inspect completed work and oversee final client handover
- Support hands-on project activity when required
3+ years of construction supervisory / superintendent experience
5+ years working within construction, trades or field operations
Strong experience within retail, commercial construction, remodels or renovations
Confident reading blueprints, drawings and project specifications
Proven experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
Strong understanding of scheduling, quality control and site safety
Experience with Procore, Plan Grid, Autodesk Build or similar platforms preferred
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Comfortable working independently in fast-moving environments
Ability to travel extensively across the United States
Travel RequirementsThis is a remote, nationwide position with significant travel.
Projects typically require Superintendents to be on assignment for approximately 10–14 weeks at a time, with air travel and occasional night/weekend working depending on project requirements.
Paid trips home are provided during extended assignments.
