Jury Marshalling
Jury Marshalling is responsible for the smooth operation of the Jury Marshalling Room, where jurors are greeted, receive orientation and are chosen for panels and prepared for the courtroom.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and a high level of tact and professionalism when interacting with jurors, court personnel, and the public.
Performs the random computer-generated selection of jury panels in accordance with court requests and established procedures.
Coordinates the physical assembly and positioning of jurors for transport to assigned courtrooms.
Shares responsibility for conducting juror orientation sessions, providing information on court procedures, expectations, and juror responsibilities within the Jury Marshalling Room.
Assists with the daily operations of the Jury Board to ensure efficient workflow and uninterrupted service.
Participates in cross-training initiatives within the Jury Board to maintain operational flexibility and provide coverage for essential functions as needed.
Works collaboratively with team members to support departmental goals and ensure the efficient administration of jury services.
Specific duties include:
- Greeting arriving jurors and verifying identification in accordance with court procedures.
- Processing juror check-ins using the jury management system to record attendance and assign payment debit cards.
- Conducting juror orientation sessions by providing instructions, explaining court procedures and judicial requirements, and addressing juror questions and concerns.
- Preparing and distributing juror work vouchers.
- Responding to courtroom requests for jury panels in a timely and efficient manner. Collecting, verifying, and entering data required for juror compensation and charitable donation programs.
- Tracking juror assignments to specific cases to ensure accurate compensation and recordkeeping.
- Assisting with all operations of the Jury Marshalling Room.
- Sharing responsibility for the preparation, coordination, and mailing of juror summons packets.
- Collecting, maintaining, and providing accurate data for reports required by internal departments and the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC).
- Assisting with the daily operations of the Jury Board.
- Providing cross-functional support by covering essential duties during staff absences. Demonstrating proficiency in jury management and county computer systems to support efficient office operations.

- High School Diploma.
