Educational Consultant
A vacancy exists for an Educational Consultant position at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at PaTTAN
- East. The Educational Consultant provides expertise in the areas of special education, inclusive practices, low-incidence disabilities, autism, and behavior to respond to PDE, BSE, and Eastern Region IUs' and their districts' requests for coaching, technical assistance, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Must possess a master's degree and Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in at least one of the following: special education, school psychology, and speech/language pathology, and/or Board Certification in Behavioral Analysis. Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas: special education, inclusive practices, teaching students with complex instructional needs, autism, and positive behavioral support. Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies.
Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to PDE and BSE requests for technical assistance. Respond to the eastern region IUs' and their districts' requests for classroom, building, and district-level coaching and technical assistance. Create and provide professional development for educators, administrators, and IU personnel in the education of students with disabilities. Plan and participate in regional and statewide conferences, workshops, and planning sessions. Assist in the preparation of publication materials (i.e., directories, brochures, training modules, manuals, and electronic resources).
Some overnight travel is required.

- East is located at 2500 Monroe Blvd, Norristown PA.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year) Eligible to work up to 35 supplemental days/year 2025 - 2026 Salary:
Master's, Step 1: $65,007/year
- Master's+60, Step 15: $117,883/year
* Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
