Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician
We're hiring a Senior Commercial HVAC Service Technician capable of leading demanding field work while supporting the technicians around them. You'll service commercial kitchen ventilation systems, rooftop HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, make-up air systems, ductwork, and related controls across the tri-state area. At this level, technical ability alone isn't enough. You'll be expected to diagnose difficult problems, keep jobs moving when problems show up, and help less experienced technicians improve in the field.
The work is physical and tied directly to keeping kitchens and facilities operating.
$40–$48/hour based on experience, leadership, troubleshooting ability, and field performance. Advancement opportunities tied to field leadership and operational performance. Health Insurance + Retirement Plan. Paid Holidays + PTO. Trusted to handle difficult field work independently. Direct involvement in difficult service work and problem-solving.
Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC and kitchen ventilation systems. Diagnose airflow, electrical, mechanical, and control-related problems in active commercial environments. Service rooftop equipment, exhaust fans, make-up air systems, ductwork, and related controls. Teach and support less experienced technicians in the field. Maintain organized work habits and manage jobs responsibly from diagnosis through completion.
6+ years of HVAC or related field experience. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability across commercial HVAC and ventilation systems. Ability to lead field work while staying productive and accountable. Capable of handling demanding field conditions without constant oversight. Work is performed in active commercial kitchens, rooftops, and mechanical spaces where downtime matters. Expect ladder work, rooftops, crawlspaces, weather exposure, lifting 50+ lbs, emergency service calls, and on-call work.
Schedules and job locations can shift based on service demand and emergency calls. This is not a normal 9–5 role. If you're ready to lead demanding field work and solve difficult problems — apply. If you're looking for predictable days or low-pressure work, this isn't the right fit. Commercial Kitchen Ventilation is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We hire based on performance, accountability, leadership, and capability.
