The hiring office for this posting has a continuing need for Spanish speaking applicants. Individuals fluent in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. Individuals hired for these positions provide information and assistance to Spanish-speaking customers.
This position supports highway safety by conducting driver exams, reviewing identity documents, and assisting customers at Driver License Centers. The role involves evaluating driving skills, processing applications, and preventing fraud. As a Driver License Examiner, you will perform the following duties:
- Driver Skill Testing: Conduct vision checks, knowledge exams, road tests, and vehicle safety reviews
- Document Review: Examine applications and identity documents to confirm authenticity and prevent fraud
- Customer Assistance: Process applications, provide information, and issue driver license products
- Fraud Prevention: Access systems and verify documents to establish identity and eligibility
- Compliance Tasks: Follow customer service policies, REAL , and fee waiver guidelines
- Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean workspace and adhere to safety procedures and training requirements
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM Wednesday and Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
- This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
- All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
- This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
