Job Description:
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for a diverse group of student and community members
  • Assist patrons at the circulation desk
  • Check in/out books and other library material
  • Reserve items, DVDsand laptops
  • Answer general questions about the library and library services
  • Shelve and retrieve books
  • Participate in library inventory,including shelf reading and shelf maintenance
  • Special projects assigned by library staff
Requirements:
  • Previous work in a library or book store a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty and the public
  • Able to take directions and follow them through
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Reliable and committed to a regular work schedule
  • Must be able to lift/push modest weights
Additional Information:

This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA and who have been awarded federal work study.
