• Provide in-person, one-on-one or small-group assistance to students at the Mark Hopkins Computer Lab and Assistive (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). students to sign in and out of the Lab.
• Input daily visits into the One Drive database.
• Train students in the use of Center technology, software, as well as built-in accessibility features across commonly used platforms.
• Distribute and collect loaned technologies. Review loaner program policies with students and obtain signed loaner agreements.
• Contribute to the design, organization, and ongoing development of the Mark Hopkins Computer Lab and AT Center.
• Assist students in setting up a personal account with Bookshare to obtain alternate format text.
• Work with other Peer Technology Specialists and Disability Resources staff to plan, host, and create technology-related educational events and materials.
• Assist in the development of marketing and outreach plans that promote the resources, services, and technologies available through the Mark Hopkins Computer Lab and AT Center.
• Assist with recruitment and training of future Peer Technology Specialists.
• Ensure that the Lab and Center are kept neat and all belongings/equipment are safe and secure in their respective places.
• Upon leaving, make sure the door is securely locked, both at lunchtime and at the end of day.
• Review and familiarize themselves with the Assistive Technology Center Handbook.
• Clean and check workstations after each student use.
• Ensure that all student accounts are logged out after each use.

• Be a positive role model and advocate for the Mark Hopkins Computer Lab and AT Center.
• Provide resources and create a welcoming space for all students.
• Possess confidence in welcoming students and finding out what their needs are.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Display a willingness to learn and engage with a variety of technologies and software.
• Possess an interest in learning and engaging in disability-related topics.

No previous technical work experience or skills required, but an interest in technology is strongly encouraged!
