Responsibilities- Care for and provide treatment, assessment, rehabilitation, prevention, and referral for student-athlete injuries.
- Maintain and input medical files and notes for student-athletes through Sports Ware (EMR).
- Maintain communication with student-athletes, coaches, and medical staff regarding the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
- Provide athletic training coverage for practices and competitions as appointed by the Director of Athletics and in consultation from the Head Athletic Trainer. Practice and game coverage will include some nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist with preseason clearances and concussion testing for student-athletes.
- Support mission and vision of athletic department.
- Complete all department, College, and conference trainings.
- Conform to the highest standards of professional conduct regarding compliance with department, institutional and conference policies and procedures and adhere to the rules and regulations of athletic governance organizations of which the institution is a member.
- Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all staff, student-athletes, and external constituents through (a) a positive and constructive approach to all tasks, (b) respect for the competencies of others, and (c) appropriate conflict resolution behavior.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- National Athletic Trainers Association (N.A.T.A.) Certifications.
- Massachusetts State License (Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions) or Eligible.
- One to three years of Collegiate Athletic Training or related experience preferred.
- An awareness of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to express self in written and oral communication.
- Ability to work effectively with professional, non-professional, and student personnel.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of initiative.
MCLA is currently hiring for two Assistant Athletic Trainers. These are part‑time, temporary, non‑benefitted positions starting on 8/10/26 and going through 10/18/26. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be working up to 18.5 hours per week. Salary for this position is $32.25/hour.
