Job Description:
  • Help plan, organize, publicize, and implement

    Gender & Sexuality Center programs, events, workshops & trainings
  • Collaborate with student organizations associated with Gender & Sexuality Center to ensure joint visionof the center & successful implementation of co-sponsored events
  • Able to work shifts in the Gender & Sexuality Center and run information tables in the Marketplace plus implement programs thatmay beafter business hours
  • Aide in the execution of office tasks and special projects by answering telephone, sending electronic and traditional mail and answering inquiries by students, faculty and staff
  • Complete mailings, create advertisements for programs, maintain bulletin boards and assist in other tasks
  • Able to attend weekly

    Gender & Sexuality Center staff meetings and be able to take responsibility on certain projects and aspects of the Center's functions
Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills (written and oral communication skills)
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Must be willing to be a positive representative ofthe Gender& Sexuality Center, Student Affairs, and the College
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Proficient and or willing to learn MS Office Programs, social media platforms
  • Have background in or be willing to learn and educate others about identity, gender equality, LGBTQIA+, and other social justice and human issues (race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, class, disability/ability, religion, and spirituality)
  • Able toattendweekly

    Gender & Sexuality Center meetings and be able to take responsibilityoncertain projects and aspects of the Center's function
  • Able to work shifts within the Gender & Sexuality Center's hours(10am-8pm), as well as run information tables in the Marketplace.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff and volunteer training and teambuilding events
  • Understanding of and ability to create programming and educational resources to create awareness and understanding of the LGBTQA+ community
  • Commitment to diversity and social justice and continuous self-awareness and learning

This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA who have been awarded federal work study.
