- Assist with keeping center materials in order.
- Assist in hosting resource fairsand other College or community outreach programs.
- Maintain Center hours to staff Center and receive scheduled as well as drop in visitors.
- Maintain and update Center calendars.
- Support ALANA Clubs' program planning, member outreach and marketing/communications.
- Support the Center'scollaborative and educational programs.
- Process mailings to new and returning students and other Center contacts.
- Help update department website information and resources.
- Answer and make phone calls in support of outreach to students, faculty/staff and outside parties.
- Carry documents and/or boxes and pick up documents from other College Centers in an expeditious manner.
- Must be flexible; will be assigned additional duties as deem necessary by the supervisor and will include the support of other Centers in the Student Affairs Division.
- Knowledge of MS Office, Canva and social media platforms such as Instagram would be beneficial
- Strong interpersonal skills (written and oral communication skills)
- Able to work independently and as a part of a team
- Must be willing to be a positive representative of the Multicultural Education Resource Center, Student Affairs, and the College
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Have background in or be willing to learn and educate others about identity, intersectionality, multiculturalism and other social justice and human issues (race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, class, disability/ability, religion, and spirituality)
- Able to attend weekly Multicultural Education Resource Centermeetingsand be able to take responsibility on certain projects and aspects of the Center's function
- Able to work shifts within the Multicultural Education Resource Center hours, as well as run information tables in the Marketplace.
- Attend and actively participate in staff and volunteer training and teambuilding events
- Understanding of and ability to create programming and educational resources to create awareness and understanding of communities of color
- Commitment to diversity and social justice and continuous self-awareness and learning
This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA who have been awarded federal work study.
