GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, computer management software and their peripherals. Be able to ensure that the uptime, performance,resources, andsecurityof the computers he or she manages meet the needs of theusers, without exceeding thebudget. This position includes the planning, implementation, coordination and maintenance of all Desktop Support Service activities administered by User Services. The duties of this position may also be to acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software;
provide routine automation; maintain security policies;troubleshoot; train staff; or offer technical support for projects.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, deploy and maintain hardware devices including computers, hard drives, scanners, cameras, printers, and other peripherals. Create and maintain a variety of computer images for Windows and Mac OS systems.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Be the primary technician in charge of the college's laptop warranty services and maintain certifications required to perform such services.
- Provide members of the MCLA community with installation, upgrade, modification, and maintenance of their computer-based applications software.
- Administer computer management software to effectively manage all endpoint devices and virtual desktops.
- Provide onsite technical assistance for faculty, staff, and students.
- Identify, assign and/or escalate Help Desk issues to appropriate IT resource, and/or vendor, to ensure timely resolution of support requests. Alert Assistant Director of User Services or other appropriate IT staff/managers to patterns and global problems.
- Assist in maintaining records for equipment in use and equipment that is recycled or discarded. Be responsible for the care, redistribution, and storage of equipment. Maintain accurate inventory information for all computer desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Contribute to the creation of user documentation and training materials as assigned.
- Assist the Assistant Director of User Services to respond to calls, e-mail, and in-person technical assistance from faculty, staff, and students.
- Provide management to the Student Help Desk when needed to support the Assistant Director of User Services.
- A Bachelor's degree or four years of professional experience servicing computers and peripherals.
- Experience in managing and documenting a community of hundreds of devices. Experience using enterprise endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune, JAMF, MDT and AD.
- Expertise with the Windows operating system including GUI customization, patching, driver installation/updating, group policies and the command line.
- Experience with managing virtual desktops in Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a plus.
- Experience with Mac OS X and Linux a plus.
- Excellent skills with tools used for virus, spyware and malware detection and removal.
- Experience using remote support software to diagnose and resolve problems.
- A working knowledge of TCP/IP and ETHERNET and wireless network communications; including configuration methods in most popular devices.
- The ability to develop scripts for the purpose of administering endpoint devices is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and transport components weighing up to 50 pounds.
- The position works, or has the potential to work on, the Criminal Justice Information Services system and is subject to periodic criminal background checks and fingerprinting.
