Summer 2025 Marketing and Publicity Internship – Storey Marketing

Program DatesJune 2, 2025 – August 7, 2025
LocationHybrid from the North Adams Office or Remote. Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.
Schedule & Compensation28 hours per week (Mon–Thu), 9:00 am–5:00 pm, with a one‑hour lunch break.
Pay rate: $16.50 per hour.
Internship OverviewAs an Hachette Book Group marketing and publicity intern, you will work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands‑on experience owning day‑to‑day tasks, assisting with special projects, and attending departmental meetings. Educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments, networking, and career development opportunities are also provided.
Responsibilities- Write compelling book descriptions and add keywords for online retailers.
- Develop organic posts for social media, including writing copy, taking photos or creating graphics, and scheduling.
- Monitor e‑retailer account sites to ensure accurate book and author data.
- Participate in marketing, editorial, and publicity brainstorming meetings.
- Develop digital ads, including writing copy and submitting creative briefs for marketing design.
- Research social media influencers and send campaign packages.
- A passion for books and a strong desire to learn more about the book publishing industry.
- Interest in nature, gardening, cooking, crafting, herbal medicine, and DIY learning is a strong plus.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Canva.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under deadlines.
- Ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
