Pay Range: $43,4100 - $68,5400 per hour.

Registered Nurse – Perioperative (Operating Room)

A Registered Nurse is a professional nursing practitioner, responsible for both direct and indirect nursing care, and is a graduate of an approved nursing school. The RN has ultimate responsibility for providing nursing care, health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning and restoration for optimal functioning and comfort of patients.

In the perioperative department, the RN performs all phases of perioperative care including pre‑admission testing, preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative patient care.

• Lead patient‑centered, goal‑oriented care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

• Direct and guide patient teaching and ancillary personnel activities while maintaining nursing professional standards.

• Provide care in all phases of the perioperative course.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of two years perioperative RN experience, preferably in endoscopy or OR.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process.

• RN license, currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS & PALS certification within six months of hire.
• Specialty certification required within six months of eligibility.

• Successful completion of continuing education per state regulations; compliance with unit‑specific scope of practice.
• English language proficiency, with adequate vision/hearing or use of prosthetics to meet job requirements.
• Knowledge and application of surgical aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform effectively in stressful and emergency situations.
• Professional communication with all internal and external contacts.
• Current liability insurance.
