GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Nursing Simulation/Skills Lab Coordinator works as part of the team in MCLA's Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and is an educational and technical expert who can develop, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair simulation and nursing skills lab equipment.
The position works closely with nursing faculty members of the Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program, supporting the Program and curriculum for the BSN major. This essential staff member is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the simulation/nursing skills lab focusing extensively on facilitating student learning outcomes associated with prescribed course and program outcomes, implementation of the nursing curriculum, program evaluation and improvement;
supports the philosophy of nursing program and supports the mission of the College.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
- Scheduling, planning, and running simulation and nursing skills events.
- Preparation, cleaning, and storage of all simulation and skills lab equipment and technology before, during, and after student learning events.
- Maintaining simulation and skills lab inventory and recommend purchasing to Associate Dean of Nursing.
- If Simulation Coordinator possesses a master's degree, teaching laboratory courses may be expected.
- Create an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability in the lab and clinical environment.
- Provide program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives.
- Serve as a professional role model for students in the lab and clinical environment.
- Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred.
- Clinical experience in a specialty field; knowledge and experience in baccalaureate education preferred.
This is a full-time, permanent, 10-month, benefited position within the APA bargaining union. Position starts in January 2027. Salary for this position is $56,000-$68,000 per year.
