Lay Bonding Operator

TOP LAY BONDING OPERATOR

The Top Lay Bonding Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining bonding equipment used in the top-layer application and bonding process, joining various metal alloys via the RF top lay bonding process. Other functions include brushing, loading/unloading annealing furnaces, base metal trimming, rolling, form rolling and general material handling to support the Bonding Department. • Toplay Bonding – setting up, operating and maintaining machinery used to bond or join metal alloys
• Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent product quality
• Inspect finished product
• Base metal trimming
• Form rolling toplay bonded material
• Rolling of base metal alloys
• Brushing
• Loading/unloading furnaces
• Material handling
• Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in metals
• Ability to read process sheets and prints
• Work with close tolerances
• Knowledge of using verniers, calipers and micrometers
• Working with quality control and data collection

• Lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to use material handling equipment with a 1,500 lb load
• Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses
